What if you slept?
And what if, in your sleep, you dreamed?
And what if, in your dream, you went to heaven and
there plucked a strange and beautiful flower?
And what if, when you awoke,
you had the flower in your hand?
Ah, what then?

-Coleridge, English Romantic poet

Such beautiful words, evoking a light and yet soothing feeling, so pleasing to the eyes and the imagination. It's amazing how the English man can put his random thoughts in a such an elegant way. I wonder if English people are that romantic and carefree, but definitely not in the hustle and bustle of London.

This is taken from Sophie's World, a book which I have taken months to read since the beginning of this year. Skipped quite a no of pages, got a conclusion that Philosophy just doesnt appeal to me. Was reading the final pages of the book at Starbucks, Bugis Junction while waiting to meet shim, lin and zhi. I find the ending pretty strange, i was expecting something to happen but it just ended there. Some parts are rather absurd, esp the fictional part of the book..in the end Sophie and Alberto are just characters in someone's book..perhaps the book is a reminder of the lives we are living, it seems to suggest that we are similar to characters in someone's book...it seems that everything is already destined and controlled by this "someone"..perhaps it is god whom we have faith in..or whoever a person believes in...however, we should also try to carve out a road of our own...to try to escape from the "book" in which we are trapped..perhaps the book is suggesting the importance of the knowledge of philosophy and enquiries.. i'm sure there is a deeper meaning to the book...but i really could not understand the book fully...

actually it is really nice to spend some time on my own..sitting down at a nice place with a nice book, sipping on mocha and having a small pastry...it really made me feel very relaxed and carefree..perhaps in london i will have lots of opportunity like this to spend time on my own..but i heard English coffee is horrible..perhaps i'll be sipping tea there:)...

I really find myself addicted to mocha these days.tried the mocha at Coffee Bean and Starbucks..i love it!.. I shall try those at some other places..mmmm..yummy!..so far I guess the Mocha at Coffee Bean is nicer..the one at Starbucks has a burnt taste somehow...but it is still nice!..rich..chocolaty and yummy:p
