woah..this is the first time i'm updating from london..so sorry haven been able to do so cos i was really busy with orientation..registering for this and that..going to the banks the telcom shops and of cos lots and lots of sightseeing with my parents..i've taken so many photos but have yet to have the time to upload onto flickr..i promise i will definitely upload soon in the next few days and u all will be able to share with me the sights and sounds of london:) last week the first day when we arrived, we were having jet lag so badly that we slept from 5pm in the evening to 6am the next day..then we went to the buckingham palace the westminster church, trafalgar's sq and the national art gallery:) then lse for registration and school induction..after that we went to chinatown for dinner..the food in london really really sux..they sell sandwich everywhere and they are not nice!..plus the western food is so oily that the sight of it gives me distaste:( on the third day, it was the lse day..i went to lse for departmental induction..following it is the fresher's fair..it costs 1/2 pounds to join every society but for sports it cost 10 pound each..that's really ex so in the end i din join any sports..but joined others like music, dance, finance, business, japanese club (where they are going to provide free jap lessons!) hee..and some others..it's not compulsory to join and i dont have to go for all their events..which is good..i can just go for those which i enjoy:) yup then on the 4th day we went to the london eye and the river cruise..it's the most enjoyable moment i've had..the river cruise travels down thames river, passing by all the impt attractions along the way..like the big ben, london tower, tate modern, st paul's cathedral..and lots more..really so much to see..and so beautiful! i really love the architecture in london...then after which we went to tate modern, st paul's cathedral and the british museum..i love british museum..it really makes me "wow" when i first stepped in..it has alot of treasures from all over the world..asia..europe..america..ancient egypt..middle east and so on..again so much to see yet so little time..after which we head on to chinatown again for seafood horfan which is yummy..then on the 5th day...went to the camden passage market which sells antiques and jewellery and chapel market which sells fresh fruits with my mom..which are both near my place..my place is nearby to the tube station, three supermarkets, a large shopping mall with cinema and two markets and there's chi buffet too..im going to try it someday!:) then afternoon daddy left for singapore...we sent him to the paddington station where he took the heathrow express to the airport..i really miss him a lot alot now..on sunday we went to the British museum again cos mom and I both like it alot alot..after which we went shopping at oxford street and Harrods!..they really sell a lot of things but they are very expensive..so in the end we bought some chocolates and pastries which are yummy..yesterday school started..i like econ lecture as the lecturer is funny and interesting but the accountancy lecture was kind of boring..hope it will get better..and today im having three lectures aft that at 12pm to 3pm..hope they will be enjoyable..
there are eight other singaporeans staying at my hall..some of us walk to school together..and i've visited them in their rooms..it makes me feel safe to have ppl from the same backgrounds..but at the same time i would like to know people from other countries..my neighbour was from ghana but she stayed in new york since she was 16..she's a postgraduate..actually most of my neighbours are postgrad as most of the undergrad are at the other wing of the hostel..but i believe there are plenty of opportunities for me to get to know them more..like for the music society..i met a hall mate from vienna austria.vienna it's like the city of music..i talked to her along the way back to hall and found out alot about the country which i would nv have known from my textbooks..everyone in vienna plays at least one instrument:)...i've also talked to people from taiwan hongkong france thailand of cos england..hehe..i guess that's the thing about studying overseas..there are plenty of chances to meet people from all over the world esp at lse where 70% of the student population are international students...i'm really looking forward to meeting more:) I really miss all of u back home...and all the thing about singapore..we are really pampered in spore..my girlfriends in spore are the ones whom no one can replace even as i meet new people..i know it will nv be the same..u girls are whom i can always cling on and i feel comfortable with..love u and miss u all lots! hugs...must keep in contact:) i will upload the photos soon
